To all of you who have graciously supported Versailles, today, we regret to
inform you that Versailles will be going on hiatus.
The band celebrated their 5th anniversary, and while considering their activity from this point on, they have decided that for the sake of their individual growth, and to give attention to their own personal music with more freedom, they will go on hiatus as of the end of 2012.
Since their formation, they have been working with the theme of roses, and this is the answer that the members have reached with the completion of their 5th anniversary single, “ROSE,”
which answers the question, “what is the meaning of rose?”
In September, they will release their final album before their hiatus, and after that they will embark on a nationwide tour. Following the tour final on Dec 20th at NHK Hall, Versailles’ hiatus will begin.
We hope that you will warmly watch over us through Versailles’
remaining activity and the members’ respective new challenges.

Japanese announcement say hiatus, but the english translation talk more in disbanding...
It's really sad for all fans, no one was expecting that..

I think they were just tired of the "rose" theme, and they have a need to change, and they can't do that without go on hiatus to clean their style..Hope that it's not an hiatus like Malice mizer.

It could also be some of the members want to do solo projects while they change their overall image. Love their music so I hope they are just taking a break like an cafe did.
Let's hope it's not a disbandment...They're really good and I'm looking forward to their comeback!!! :D
Probabaly the worst news I heard in months. I hope they're back, it doesn't matter how long it'll take, but I hope for their return. Every now and then bands need rest and refresh themselves both on personal and musical levels, I can understand that perfectly. And I agree with people here, that we must show them our full support until the end of the year.
That's a joke right? Tell me that's a joke T_T.
On the other hand I can't wait to see what will they do 'outside Versailles framework'. I'm really looking forward to their new album anyway :D!

If you could read something in Japanese original source it clearly talk about hiatus, I've already noticed that english translation it's not 100% correct.
Besides that, they have already clarified this, and sent emails saying it's just a hiatus to some Street Teams...So it's really and hiatus ^^
